Artist Books

Why I Create Artist Books

I started making artist’s books as a method of visual storytelling. My fascination with form and structure, in addition to my love of color and pattern, works well in this format. By incorporating fiber and mixed media with imagery, I create one-of-a-kind, tangible objects that reflect my personal aesthetic. I love using weaving in all my books to enhance the tactile experience. As vehicles for storytelling without words they invite the viewer to ask questions, touch the work, and experience the piece in a way that eBooks and virtual/digital art cannot. These artist books are my personal offering for a “Slow Art” sensory experience.
